Qualification of Members
Any organisation associated with, or working within the construction industry is entitled to apply for membership of the CRA, including companies involved in interrelated industries such as demolition, dismantling and remediation work. Applicants must be able to prove to the CRA beyond reasonable doubt their commitment to reuse, reduce and recycle unwanted material.

 

Applications

All applications for membership to the CRA will only be made on an approved CRA application form.


Assessment
Applicants will be assessed by the CRA to establish their commitment to reducing, reusing and recycling unwanted materials.  Assessment may be conducted by questionnaire, interview or site visit. 

 

Approval

Membership will only be granted following a successful application and approval of the CRA Director.

Rejection
The CRA reserves the right to reject any application for membership for whatever reasons. In no case will the CRA be bound to give any reason for the rejection of an application. The Director of the CRA will have full and absolute discretion to refuse any application for membership.

Subscriptions
Upon becoming a member of the CRA, a new member must immediately pay the annual subscription fee.
CRA certificates and membership numbers will only be generated and dispatched upon full payment of the annual subscription fee.
If the annual subscription fee of any member is unpaid for two months of the same becoming due then membership of the CRA will be automatically terminated.

CRA Remit
The CRA remit centres on the following objectives
a) Promote reuse and recycling of unwanted materials within the construction industry.
b) Offer an industry wide recycling pledge for those enterprises committed to reuse and recycling.
c) Encourage effective recycling and reuse strategies and practices amongst members.
d) Showcase innovation and disseminate news and information for the benefit of CRA members.
e) Represent members’ interests at regulatory level and, where possible, influence new regulations and directives.
Note: In no way does the CRA audit or regulate any of it members’ activities.

Membership of the CRA does not indicate specific recycling or reuse standards or rates have been achieved by any company or organisation belonging to the CRA.

Refunds
Once a membership application has been accepted the CRA is unable to refund any part of the membership fee if the Member cancels their membership.

 

Change of Title or Alteration in Company Structure

In the event of a Member wishing to continue in Membership under a new title or structure, the Member shall advise the CRA of the details at the earliest opportunity. The CRA shall then decide if the details given satisfy the criteria for continuation of Membership.

 

Notification of Environmental Occurrences

Members are required to notify the Chief Executive within 14 days from occurrence of

any environmental occurrence concerning their business operations. Such notification received by the CRA will be treated as confidential information.

 

Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual Property rights relating to the CRA shall be owned by the CRA absolutely.

 

Termination of Membership

The Membership of any Member may be terminated at any time it is of the opinion that the act or conduct of the Member is not in the best interests of the CRA. The Member shall be notified in writing of the CRA’s decision.

Membership shall cease forthwith if:

a) The Member fails to pay the Annual Subscription within three months of

the same becoming due.

b) The Member being a Corporation be wound up or dissolved or have its

name struck off the Register of Companies (other than a voluntary

liquidation for the purpose of reconstruction or amalgamation forthwith

carried into effect) or if it enters into any arrangement or composition with

or makes an assignment in favour of its Creditors.

d) The Member being an individual shall die.

e) The Member gives notice in writing to resign Membership.

g) The CRA determine that the Member is in breach of the CRA’s membership criteria.

h) The CRA determines that the action(s) of the Member has brought the

CRA into disrepute.

 

Data Protection Policy

The CRA is fully committed to protecting Members’ information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Information about our members will only be processed in line with established regulations. Data will be collected, recorded and used fairly, stored safely and securely and not disclosed to any third party unlawfully. As the lawful and correct treatment of information is critical to our successful operations and to maintaining confidence, the CRA is committed to:

a) keeping members; data up to date and confidential

b) collecting accurate and relevant data only for specified lawful purposes

c) adhering to regulations and related procedures to ensure that all employees who have access to date held by or on behalf of the CRA are fully aware of and abide by their duties under the Data Protection Act 1998.
